THE MARCH 10TH MEETING - Our guest speaker was the new Center's Director, Al Diaz. As you are likely aware, Al replaced Joe Rothenberg, who was snatched away from Goddard in January by Dan Goldin to become Assoc. Administrator for Space Flight in full charge of both the Shuttle & Space Station Programs. We all wish Joe good fortune in what has to be NASA's most difficult job.

Al Diaz has inherited a Center whose major reorganization was completed only in December, with some important posts still being filled. The Center will be difficult to recognize for many of us who retired five or more years ago. Al told us how the Center will become a more business oriented organization in the development of space missions while providing technology and scientific leadership to the Nation's space and earth science programs. Management of major X-ray and Gamma Ray science missions, the Next Generation Space Telescope and the extensive series of Earth Observation Satellites will keep the Center a busy place for many years to come.

KEITH WALTERS: Carole (Jean)& Keith are still on the Eastern. Shore, better known as "Paradise". Send thanks to all the volunteers that keep GRAA going. Enjoy reading the Newsletter, but recognize less and less of the names as tune goes on. Are working on their #4 & #5 fishing books to aid & assist the piscatorially (looked this word up in the dictionary for those that might not know the meaning and could use it for their Crossword Puzzle - it means, 'science of fishing'/EM) challenged. Send congrats to Charlie Boyle for his new book - a whale of a tale.

JOHN T. BOWERMAN: Still lives in Baltimore -- in good health -- would like to attend one of the GRAA luncheons but keeps very busy working for the Baltimore Orioles Baseball Club. Mentions that if anyone would like a tour of Camden Yard Baseball Park, call him. (P. S. Alberta will be contacting you soon re scheduling a tour for her grandchildren & also setting up a visit for interested GRAA members) Thanks for the invitation.

JIM ZEREGA: Presently living in Glengary, WV (Current address noted for the GRAA Membership Directory) Enjoys receiving & reading the Monthly Newsletter -- mentioned that GRAA has to be the best organization of its kind because he remembers those who run it and do most of the work -- Alberta, Elaine & Wilma -- what great ladies and what great memories -- its wonderful to hear from so many that he used to work with. Jim and his wife Sue enjoy the scenery, people and quiet of West Virginia - send greetings to all.
