COMMENTS FROM GRAA'S PRESIDENT, DR. PIEPER: The May GRAA lunch, a reunion of the OGO project organized by Ron Browning and Ed Mercanti, was a huge success. Over 90 people attended and enjoyed Barney's fine cuisine. Ron acted as MC and talks were given by Jack Townsend and George Ludwig. Many people brought mementos to share, including some pieces of actual backup flight hardware. Among the several PI's present were three who are still working, Skip Reber, Bob Hoffman and Tom Cline. Tom celebrated his 70th birthday at the lunch.

The consensus from those who have attended project reunions at GRAA lunches is that they are great fun,a wonderful way to see a lot of old friends from (what we think as) the great days of Goddard. So far we have had IMP, OAO, and OGO reunions. How about one sometime next fall for an applications project like NIMBUS, TIROS, or ATS? All that is needed is somebody to step up to organize it (it's really not hard) by contacting me or Alberta.

Next month on June ll, we will have as guests a group of NASA Academy interns. They are college under-graduates who want to work in the space program and are spending the summer at the Center. They are young, bright, and remarkably knowledgeable. George Ludwig, who spoke so eloquently at the OGO reunion, will come back to talk to the group on the early history of space research.

MAIL STUFFERS FOR MAY; Agnes R. Smith, Mary & Bob Wilson, Eloise Tarter, Elaine C. Montgomery, Frank Wrigley, Hugh O'Donnell, Roland Van Allen, and Ewald Schmidt.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Donations were received from Evelyn Baumann, Marge Townsend, Jack Evans, Emil Hymowitz, Hugh Turnbull, John Quill, Dick Donnelly, Ivan Mason, Andy Mazurick, Richard DeMarco and Frank Carr.
