COMMENTS FROM GRAA'S PRESIDENT, DR. PIEPER: In spite of the recent loss of two US spacecraft, intended to explore the planet, these are exciting times in the study of Mars. Recently strong evidence has been found for the flow of water on the planet's surface in the past and the question of life there has been revitalized. Goddard is fortunate to have a group of outstanding planetary scientists, and one of them, Paul Lowman will be our speaker at our January luncheon. So many things have happened and Paul is so excited about them that he has chosen to title his talk "THE NEW MARS". Join us for what will be a lively talk.

LOST GRAA. MEMBERS!!!: When members move, a change of address should be submitted in order not to be deleted from the mailing list.

APPALACHIA COLLECTION: The 29th Annual Appalachia Christmas Drive ended December 12th with a total of 3 1/2 truck loads of new toys, food, clothing and household goods. Most of the donations were delivered within a week to charities as far away as Harlan County, KY.. Frank Martin of the John Lamb Foundation was assisted in loading the truck by Tom Butash, Tom Huber, John Steckel, Dick Tagler and Bob Wigand.
